WHEREAS, on May 24, 2022, 19 children and 2 teachers were killed in a tragic, preventable mass shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas; and
WHEREAS, the children killed in this senseless tragedy ranged from ages 8 to 11 years old. These children were trapped in a fourth-grade classroom at Robb Elementary with the shooter for over an hour; and
WHEREAS, the children lost are: Nevaeh Alyssa Bravo, Jacklyn Cazares, Makenna Lee Elrod, Jose Manuel Flores, Jr., Eliahna Garcia, Uziyah Garcia, Amerie Jo Garcia, Xavier Lopez, Jayce Carmelo Luevanos, Tess Mata, Maranda Mathis, Alithia Ramirez, Annabelle Rodriguez, Maite Rodriguez, Alexandria "Lexi" Rubio, Layla Salazar, Jailah Nicole Silguero, Eliahana Torres, and Rojelio Torres. WHEREAS, Eva Mireles was also a fourth-grade teacher. Ms. Garcia and Ms. Mirales co-taught fourth grade and both gave their lives in order to save their innocent students; and
WHEREAS, in addition to those killed, 17 people were injured in the shooting and many more were witnesses and whose lives have been forever changed; and

WHEREAS, stricter gun laws that curb access to guns would definitively result in fewer mass shootings. A majority of Americans agree that gun laws should be stricter in the United States; and
