WHEREAS, Substitute Resolution RS2022-1734 appropriated $500,000 from the unencumbered balance of appropriations to various Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County departments for the purpose of funding a grant to Planned Parenthood of Tennessee and Northern Mississippi to provide comprehensive sexual health education in Nashville and Davidson County, Tennessee and distribute safer sex supply kits, family planning counseling, birth control counseling, and birth control products; and,
WHEREAS it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that the grant contract between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, and Planned Parenthood of Tennessee and Northern Mississippi, be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That the grant contract between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, and Planned Parenthood of Tennessee and Northern Mississippi, attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved.
Section 2. That this Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
