A resolution honoring Morgan Price of Fisk University for her second national collegiate gymnastics championship and additional historic achievements.

WHEREAS, Morgan Price is currently a junior at Fisk University, a Historically Black College and University ("HBCU") in Nashville, TN, who has recently added new honors to her already-impressive career in women's collegiate gymnastics; and
WHEREAS, last year, as a sophomore, Ms. Price became the first student from an HBCU to win a national collegiate gymnastics championship when she won the all-around competition at the USA Gymnastics Women's Collegiate National Invitational Championship on April 12, 2024; and
WHEREAS, in February 2025, Ms. Price earned a perfect 10.0 for her bar routine in a tri meet at Temple University, making history as the first gymnast representing an HBCU to earn a perfect score in women's collegiate gymnastics; and
WHEREAS, in April 2025, Ms. Price won first place in all individual events at the Women's Collegiate Gymnastics National Invitational Championships in Shreveport, Louisiana - vault, uneven bars, balance beam, and floor exercise; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Price was also awarded the all-around national championship title at the event, making this her second title in two years; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Price has made history as the first HBCU gymnast to win two national titles and earn a perfect score of 10.0 in a routine in the same year; and
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council congratulates and recognizes Ms. Price's historic achievements in gymnastics on behalf of Nashville and Davidson County.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. The Metropolitan County Council hereby goes on record as recognizing Fisk University student Morgan Price on her second all-around national championship title at the 2025 Women's Collegiate Gymnastics National Invitational Champtionship and her perfect score in the tri ...
