A resolution approving amendment one to a contract between the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health, and the State of Tennessee, Department of Health, to provide for the administering of environmental health programs.

WHEREAS, Metropolitan Charter Section 10.104 provides that the Board of Health has the duty to contract for such services as will further the program and policies of the board, subject to confirmation by Resolution of Council; and,
WHEREAS, Resolution No. RS2022-1624 approved a contract between the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health, and the Tennessee Department of Health, to provide for the administering of Environmental Health Programs; and,
WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend the contract to reduce the maximum liability under the contract to $3,415,000, a copy of which amendment one is attached hereto; and,
WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this amendment one be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That amendment one to the contract by and between the State of Tennessee, Department of Health, and the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health, to provide for the administering of environmental health programs, a copy of which amendment one is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.
Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
