A resolution appropriating a total of $1,530,329 from the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Office of Homeless Services, to various non-profit organizations to build the capacity of the Nashville-Davidson County Continuum of Care to address homelessness.

WHEREAS, Section 7-3-314 of the Tennessee Code Annotated states that metropolitan forms of government may provide financial assistance to nonprofit organizations in accordance with the guidelines of the Metropolitan Government; and,
WHEREAS, Section 5.04.070 of the Metropolitan Code of Laws provides that the Council may, by Resolution, appropriate funds for the financial aid of nonprofit organizations; and,
WHEREAS, the Office of Homeless Services has accepted applications from non-profit organizations to build the capacity of the Nashville-Davidson County Continuum of Care to address homelessness; and,
WHEREAS, Resolution No. RS2022-1699 allocated funding to the Office of Homeless Services to establish a low barrier housing collective and to fund competitive grants for support services; and,
WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that these funds be appropriated to these nonprofit organizations.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. There is hereby appropriated One Million Five Hundred Thirty Thousand Three Hundred Twenty Nine Dollars ($1,530,329) from the Office of Homeless Services to nonprofit organizations as follows:
a) $205,763 to Dismas House, Inc. for building the capacity of the Nashville-Davidson County Continuum of Care to prevent homelessness by effectively and efficiently targeting housing navigation services and evidence-based support services to people exiting jails and prisons who are more likely to experience homelessness in Nashville; and,
