Department of the Interior, National Park Service, to the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Historical Commission, to provide funding for the completion of a historical context focused on Nashville resources associated with the Civil Rights Movement from 1944 to 1966.

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Historical Commission, previously entered into a grant agreement with the U. S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service, to provide funding for the completion of a historical context focused on Nashville resources associated with the Civil Rights Movement from 1944 to 1966 approved by RS2021-1212; and,
WHEREAS, amendment one extends the end date of the grant to December 31, 2023; and,
WHEREAS, amendment two addresses the removal of the installation of a historical marker from the project by (1) modifying Article VI of the Grant Agreement and the associated Addenda to reflect the removal of the installation in the statement of work and (2) modifying Article XII of the Grant Agreement to decrease the Metropolitan Government's cash match from $5,160.00 to $2,150.00; and,
WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that amendments one and two be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That amendments one and two to the grant by and between the U. S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service, and the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Historical Commission, to provide funding for the completion of a historical context focused on Nashville resources associated with the Civil Rights Movement from 1944 to 1966, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approve...
