WHEREAS, Routeware Global ("Routeware") has developed a technology-enabled suite of systems and methods for monitoring waste management services provided by waste hauler vehicles in real-time, enabling users to effectively measure and manage the impact and efficiency of waste removal services; and,
WHEREAS, Metro's Waste Division includes a fleet of approximately 90 waste and recycling vehicles ("Solid Waste Vehicles") that service the approximately 142,000 households within the City limits; and,
WHEREAS, the Parties are interested in conducting a joint 3-month waste data pilot project (the "Pilot Project"), allowing Metro to test Routeware's technology-enabled suite of products to improve the impact and efficiency of its residential waste and recycling systems.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, through the Department of Water and Sewerage Services, is authorized to enter into a waste data pilot program with Routeware and to accept a donation of $30,000 for hardware, software and services associated with the program.
Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
