Agenda Analysis

Analysis

This resolution authorizes the Metropolitan Department of Water and Sewerage Services (“MWS”) to enter into a waste data pilot program with Routeware Global and to accept a donation of $30,000, which represents the values of the hardware, software, and services associated with the pilot program.

Pursuant to the terms of the pilot program, MWS will test the system in ten vehicles for 90 days. The purpose of the system is to monitor and measure the impact and efficiency of waste removal services. The software will be hosted in the cloud by Routeware and hardware will be installed in the vehicles. A combination of on-site and web-based training will be provided to MWS employees. Routeware will also provide 24/7 support for the duration of the pilot.

The pilot period will commence upon installation of the system. Upon the completion of the pilot, the hardware will be returned to Routeware. The $30,000 donation from Routeware reflects the value of the pilot program, including the hardware and software that will be used during the pilot.

Fiscal Note: Metro would receive a donation of $30,000, value of the pilot program, for hardware, software and services associated with the waste data pilot program with Routeware Global.
