WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health, previously entered into a grant agreement with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for the ongoing collection of data on ambient air concentrations for fine particulate matter in Nashville, Tennessee approved by RS2020-681; and,

WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend that grant agreement to increase the amount of the grant by $32,500.00 for a new grant total of $390,000.00 with no cash match required, a copy of which amendment three is attached hereto; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that amendment three be accepted.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1.                     That amendment three to the grant by and between the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health, for the ongoing collection of data on ambient air concentrations for fine particulate matter in Nashville, Tennessee, a copy of which amendment three is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2.                     That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.

This resolution approves the third amendment to a grant from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to the Metropolitan Board of Health for the ongoing collection of data on ambient air concentrations for fine particulate matter in Nashville. The original agreement was approved by Resolution No. RS2020-681 and amended by Resolution No. RS2022-1530. This is a routine grant and the Metro Health Department is responsible for air quality monitoring in Nashville and Davidson County on behalf of the EPA. The term of the grant began April 1, 2020.

 

The amendment increases the amount of the grant by $32,500 for a new grant total of $390,000. The end date of the grant is March 31, 2024 and will not be amended.
