WHEREAS, RS2021-1077 approved the application for a CMAQ Improvement Grant from TDOT for an award amount of $3,655,000 with no cash match required to implement a modern, fully functional TMC; and,
WHEREAS, TDOT Agreement 220142 (attached hereto as Exhibit A) provides the grant award amount not to exceed the $3,655,000 acting by and through NDOT, for the implementation of a modern, fully functional TMC; and,
WHEREAS, Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 12-9-104(a)(2)(b), authorizes the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County to enter into intergovernmental agreements with the State of Tennessee; and,
WHEREAS, it is in the interest of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this intergovernmental agreement be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That the Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality Improvements grant by and between the Tennessee Department of Transportation, in an amount not to exceed $3,655,000 to the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Nashville Department of Transportation and Multimodal Infrastructure, for the implementation of a modern, fully functional Transportation Management Center, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.
