WHEREAS, Kevin Lee Cordell was born on April 4, 1979 to his loving parents, Carroll and Teresa Cordell; and

WHEREAS, Kevin lived his younger years in a full home with his three brothers - Bernie, Tyler, and Kyle - and his two sisters - Tracy and Karen; and

WHEREAS, Kevin was also adored by his Nanny, Betty Gooch, as well as many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members; and

WHEREAS, Kevin and his family made sweet family memories at the racetrack, where they all shared their love and passion for racing; and

WHEREAS, Kevin met his future wife, Amy, at the local Piggly Wiggly when he was 16, after which they quickly become friends and fell in love; and

WHEREAS, Kevin and Amy married on September 23, 2000, and went on to become parents to their gifts and treasures, Oliver, Laney, and Ivy; and

WHEREAS, Kevin was guided by his Christian faith and possessed an impressive work ethic; and

WHEREAS, Kevin's hard work at Printing Etc. was so deeply appreciated by his clients, many of whom became his friends, who he took such good care of in a kind and generous way; and

WHEREAS, Kevin was a passionate and steadfast advocate for racing, particularly at the Fairgrounds where he fought to keep the racetrack operating for more than the past decade; and

WHEREAS, Kevin's passion for racing brought him a great deal of joy and a second family for which he was deeply grateful; and

WHEREAS, Kevin was a strong spiritual leader to his family and gave his all to his family and friends; and

WHEREAS, Kevin was full of humor, loved to travel, and was spontaneous and adventurous; and

WHEREAS, Kevin passed away on October 20, 2021, and will be deeply missed by so many.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as honoring the life of Kevin Cordell.

Section 2. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
