A resolution approving an application for a Shuttered Venue Operators grant from the U.S. Small Business Administration to the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Nashville Municipal Auditorium, to provide funds to maintain ongoing operations and maintenance of the venue due to COVID-19 restrictions of the past year.

WHEREAS, the U.S. Small Business Administration is accepting applications for a Shuttered Venue Operators grant with an award of $1,523,618.31 with no cash match required to provide funds to maintain ongoing operations and maintenance of the venue due to COVID-19 restrictions of the past year; and,
WHEREAS, the Nashville Municipal Auditorium is eligible to participate in the grant program; and,
WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant application be approved and submitted.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That the Shuttered Venue Operators grant application of the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Nashville Municipal Auditorium, to provide funds to maintain ongoing operations and maintenance of the venue due to COVID-19 restrictions of the past year, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Nashville Municipal Auditorium is authorized to submit said grant application to the U. S. Small Business Administration.
Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
