WHEREAS, the Friends of Warner Parks have awarded an in-kind grant with an estimated value  not to exceed $1,196,000.00 with no cash match required to the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Metro Parks and Recreation Department, to fund the next phase of improvements in the Warner Parks, a copy of which in-kind grant is attached hereto; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this in-kind grant be accepted.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1.                     That the in-kind grant by and between the Friends of Warner Parks, with an estimated value not to exceed $1,196,000.00, and the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Metro Parks and Recreation Department, to fund the next phase of improvements in the Warner Parks, a copy of which in-kind grant is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved.

Section 2.                     That the in-kind grant be appropriated to the Metro Parks and Recreation Department.

Section 3.                     That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.

This resolution approves an in-kind grant valued at $1,196,000 from the Friends of Warner Parks to the Metro Board of Parks and Recreation to fund the next phase of improvements in the Warner Parks. The improvements will include nature center maintenance, gate replacement, trail and roadway improvements, invasive plant removal, stonework repairs, and memorial benches and gardens. There is no required local match for this grant.
