WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Action Commission previously accepted a grant from the U. S. Department of Health and Human Services for the Head Start/Early Head Start program by funding a comprehensive child development program for disadvantaged children in an amount not to exceed $14,452,753.00 with a required cash match of $3,613,188.00; and,

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Action Commission accepted amendment four to that grant for cost of living and quality improvement increases in an amount not to exceed $682,702.00 with no additional cash match required for a new grant total of 15,135,455.00; and,

WHEREAS, the grant award of $15,135,455.00 with the required cash match of $3,613,188.00 total $18,746,643.00 of which $23,743.00 exceeds the appropriated budget of $18,724,900.00 for the Head Start/Early Head Start program grant; and the Metropolitan Action Commission requests that these additional funds be appropriated to the FY20-21 budget, a copy of which amendment four is attached hereto; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that these additional funds be appropriated to the Metropolitan Action Commission and amendment four be accepted.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That amendment four to a grant by and between the U. S. Department of Health and Human Services to the Metropolitan Action Commission to support the Head Start/Early Head Start Program by funding a comprehensive child development program for disadvantaged children, a copy of which amendment four is attached hereto and incorporated herein, be appropriated to the Metropolitan Actio...
