WHEREAS, Cornerstone Church wishes to donate an untrained police dog, valued at $11,930.00, to the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, for MNPD to be able to train and utilize in patrol-tracking or the detection of explosives or narcotics; and,
WHEREAS, a copy of the donation documentation is attached hereto and incorporated herein; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to Metropolitan Code of Laws ? 5.04.120(B), donations to departments exceeding $5,000 in value may be accepted upon approval of the Metropolitan Council by resolution; and,
WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this donation be accepted.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That the donation by the Cornerstone Church of an untrained police dog, valued at $11,930.00, to the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, pursuant to the donation documentation attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved.
Section 2. That the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department is hereby authorized to accept this donation for its use and benefit.
Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
