WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Office of the District Attorney General, previously entered into a grant agreement with the Tennessee Office of Criminal Justice Programs to provide partial funding for four specialized Victim Witness Coordinators to work with Spanish-speaking victims and within the Crimes Against Children unit approved by RS2024-162; and,

WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend the grant agreement to increase the amount of the grant by $252,204.00 from $252,204.00 to $504,408.00, extend the end date to June 30, 2025, and revise grant contract provisions, a copy of which amendment one is attached hereto; and,

WHEREAS, at the time the Office of the District Attorney General applied for the grant, the Tennessee Office of Criminal Justice Programs required a local match, reflecting that the project would be funded 80% by the grant award and 20% by cash match from the Metropolitan Government; and,

WHEREAS, when the grant award was issued, the Tennessee Office of Criminal Justice Programs waived the local cash match requirement but did not increase the funding to cover the entire project; and,

WHEREAS, to account for the 20% of funding needed to cover the remaining funding for the project, an additional $63,051.00 for fiscal year 2025 will be assessed against the Office of the District Attorney General's general fund appropriations; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that amendment one to this grant be approved.
