A resolution appropriating a total of $2,716,275 from the Nashville Public Library to various non-profit organizations for the provision of free and high-quality afterschool and summer programming through the Library's Nashville After Zone Alliance out-of-school time coordinating system.

WHEREAS, Section 7-3-314 of the Tennessee Code Annotated states that metropolitan forms of government may provide financial assistance to nonprofit organizations in accordance with the guidelines of the Metropolitan Government; and,
WHEREAS, Section 5.04.070 of the Metropolitan Code of Laws provides that the Council may, by Resolution, appropriate funds for the financial aid of nonprofit organizations; and,
WHEREAS, the Library has accepted applications from non-profit organizations to receive funding from the Nashville After Zone Alliance coordinating system for the provision of free and high-quality afterschool and summer programming; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to BL2024-373, funds are available for the provision of high-quality afterschool and summer programming through the Library's Nashville After Zone Alliance out-of-school time coordinating system; and,
WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that these funds be appropriated to these nonprofit organizations.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. There is hereby appropriated Two Million Seven Hundred Sixteen Thousand Two Hundred Seventy Five Dollars ($2,716,275) from the Public Library to nonprofit organizations as follows:
$97,875 to AAOC Camps for Youth Development;
$485,990 to Backfield in Motion, Inc.;
$104,200 to Bethlehem Centers of Nashville;
$278,260 to Black Lemonade;
$37,340 to Carnegie Writers;
$16,800 to East Nashville Hope Exchange;
$241,815 to Global Outreach Developments International;
$318,220 to Martha O-Bryan Center;
