A resolution approving amendment three to an Adult Drug Court and Veterans Treatment Court Discretionary Program grant from the U. S. Department of Justice to the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the General Sessions Court, to implement a DUI Court to serve participants convicted of a misdemeanor DUI offense.

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the General Sessions Court, previously entered into a grant agreement with the U.S. Department of Justice to implement a DUI Court to serve participants convicted of a misdemeanor DUI offense approved by RS2022-1397, RS2023-2364 amendment one and RS2023-43 amendment two; and,
WHEREAS, amendment three to the grant agreement extends the grant period by 12 months to September 30, 2026, allows the remaining grant funding of $142,442 to be utilized during FY 2026, allows indirect cost rates to be recalculated to accurately reflect grantor requirements, and incorporates the cash match of $62,625 to meet the grantor's 25 percent match of the total award, a copy of which amendment three is attached hereto; and,
WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that amendment three be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That amendment three to the Adult Drug Court and Veterans Treatment Court Discretionary Program grant by and between the U. S. Department of Justice and the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the General Sessions Court, to implement a DUI Court to serve participants convicted of a misdemeanor DUI offense, a copy of which amendment three is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.
