WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Parks and Recreation, submitted an application via the conditional mayoral approval processes provided for it M.C.L. ? 2.08.045 for a Land and Water Conservation Fund grant from the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation to provide funding for the development of "The Farm" area of the Mill Ridge Park; and,
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County is eligible to participate in this grant program; and,
WHEREAS, the Joe C. Davis Foundation and the Friends of Mill Ridge Park has awarded a grant with an estimated value of $2,000,000, to the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Parks and Recreation, to match funds for the Land and Water Conservation Fund grant by providing in-kind services and improvements for design and documents and construction of the barn valued at up to $1,667,823, and funding up to $332,177 to cover permits and contractor and overhead fees and contingency and escalation costs; and,
WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant application be approved and that this grant be accepted.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
