WHEREAS, NDOT and TDOT seek to enter into an intergovernmental agreement for the North Nashville Community Engagement / Jefferson Street Corridor Planning and Environmental Linkages (PEL) Study to conduct community engagement services that gather meaningful input on potential future planning needs and initiatives within North Nashville, and to provide a FHWA with a PEL Study for potential improvement on the Jefferson Street Corridor; and,
WHEREAS, Tennessee Code Annotated Section 12-9-104(a)(2)(b) authorizes the Metropolitan Government to enter into intergovernmental agreements with the State of Tennessee by resolution; and,
WHEREAS, it is in the interest of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this Agreement be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That the intergovernmental agreement between the State of Tennessee, Department of Transportation, and the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, by and through the Nashville Department of Transportation and Multimodal Infrastructure, attached hereto as Exhibit A and incorporated herein by reference, is hereby approved, and that the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.
Section 2. That the Metropolitan Government's participation is subject to the availability of funds as determined by the Department of Finance.
