An ordinance approving an agreement between the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Public Defender, and Lipscomb University, to provide training and education for students enrolled in Lipscomb’s Department of Social Work and Sociology program.

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Public Defender, and Lipscomb University, have entered into an agreement to provide students enrolled in Lipscomb's Department of Social Work and Sociology with the opportunity to experience quality training and education at the Metropolitan Nashville Public Defender’s office; and,

WHEREAS, approval of the agreement will benefit the citizens of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the agreement between the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Public Defender, and Lipscomb University, attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved.

Section 2. That this Ordinance shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
