A resolution approving amendment one to a grant memorandum of understanding (MOU) from the National League of Cities to the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Metropolitan Finance Department, to participate in the Southern Cities Economic Initiative (SCEI) to design and execute local economic strategies that boost economic mobility and resilience for residents and small businesses.

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Metropolitan Finance Department, previously entered into a grant agreement with the National League of Cities to participate in the Southern Cities Economic Initiative (SCEI) to design and execute local economic strategies that boost economic mobility and resilience for residents and small businesses approved by RS2025-1383; and,
WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend the grant agreement to extend the grant period to June 30, 2026, and update the Planning Phase Budget, a copy of which amendment one is attached hereto; and,
WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that amendment one to the grant MOU be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That amendment one to the grant MOU by and between the National League of Cities and the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Metropolitan Finance Department, to participate in the Southern Cities Economic Initiative (SCEI) to design and execute local economic strategies that boost economic mobility and resilience for residents and small businesses, a copy of which amendment one is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.
Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
