A resolution approving amendment two to an Adult Drug Court and Veterans Treatment Court Discretionary Program grant from the U. S. Department of Justice to the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the General Sessions Court, to implement a DUI Court to serve participants convicted of a misdemeanor DUI offense.

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the General Sessions Court, previously entered into a grant agreement with the U.S. Department of Justice to implement a DUI Court to serve participants convicted of a misdemeanor DUI offense approved by RS2022-1397 and later amended by RS2023-2364; and,
WHEREAS, amendment two to the grant agreement re-allocates $17,731.26 in unused year one funding designated for Drug Testing/SCRAM and $12,000.00 in unused year one funding designated for Therapy to grant years three and four for Low Intensive Outpatient (LIOP) Treatment and $2,368.74 in unused year two funding designated for Therapy to years two and three for LIOP; and,
WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that amendment two be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That amendment two to the Adult Drug Court and Veterans Treatment Court Discretionary Program grant by and between the U. S. Department of Justice and the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the General Sessions Court, to implement a DUI Court to serve participants convicted of a misdemeanor DUI offense, a copy of which amendment two is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.
Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
