WHEREAS, Section 7-3-314 of the Tennessee Code Annotated states that metropolitan forms of government may provide financial assistance to nonprofit organizations in accordance with the guidelines of the Metropolitan Government; and,
WHEREAS, Section 5.04.070 of the Metropolitan Code of Laws provides that the Council may, by Resolution, appropriate funds for the financial aid of nonprofit organizations; and,
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council passed Resolution No. RS2023-2282, pursuant to which the Metropolitan Government appropriated a total of $2,938,965 from the Nashville Public Library to specific non-profit organizations for the provision of free and high-quality afterschool programs through the Library's Nashville After Zone Alliance ("NAZA") program; and,
WHEREAS, Resolution No. RS2023-2282 authorized the Metropolitan Government to enter into grant contracts with certain non-profit organizations; and,
WHEREAS, Resolution No. RS2023-2375 and Resolution No. RS2024-408 authorized the Metropolitan Government to enter into amendments to the grant contracts approved in Resolution No. RS2023-2282; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to BL2023-1867, additional funds are available to increase the individual grant amounts to increase the individual grant amounts and amend grant contracts for the provision of high-quality enrichment activity support for youth summer programming through the Library's NAZA program; and,
WHEREAS, in accordance with the terms of the grant contracts, amendments to the grant contract must be in writing and passed by resolution by the Metropolitan Counci...
