A resolution recognizing the contributions of Keith Durbin to the Metropolitan Government and expressing appreciation for his leadership of the Metropolitan Information Technology Services Department.

WHEREAS, after 15 years of committed public service, Keith Durbin will be leaving the Metropolitan Government; and
WHEREAS, since 2009, Mr. Durbin has served under five mayors as the Chief Information Officer ("CIO") and Director of Information Technology Services ("ITS") for the Metropolitan Government; and
WHEREAS, under his leadership, the Metropolitan Government has established the information security program, the open data program, Metro's owned-fiber network, and Metro Public Wi-Fi, as well as the hubNashville/311 system, the award-winning enterprise Geographic Information Systems ("GIS") service, the enterprise Community Asset and Land Use program, the enterprise information security and digital inclusion initiatives, and more; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Durbin has also been an advocate for Metro employees, championing and starting the Metro Government Employee Emergency Support Fund, which assists Metro employees in their times of greatest need; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Durbin also started the Office of Digital Inclusion and the Nashville Digital Inclusion fund at the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee. Under his leadership, Nashville was selected as a Visionary Digital Inclusion Trailblazer by the National Digital Inclusion Alliance; and
WHEREAS, at the Esri Public Sector CIO Summit in March of this year, ITS was presented with the 2024 Enterprise Approach to GIS award. This award recognizes a CIO and their organization who led a significant digital transformation of a project, department, or organization using GIS as a foundation; and
WHEREAS, the Enterprise Approach to GIS award also highlights the outstanding work of ITS's GIS team as well as the visionary planning, implementation, and hard work of Mr. Durbin, the entire ITS team, and Metro...
