A resolution approving a Maternal Produce Prescription Program grant application from the Health Resources and Services Administration to the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health, to expand existing food prescription programs and increase food access, healthy food intake, and food security for maternal populations.

WHEREAS, the Health Resources and Services Administration is accepting applications for a Maternal Produce Prescription Program grant with an award of $2,000,000 with no cash match required; and,
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government is eligible to participate in this grant program; and,
WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant application be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That the application for a Maternal Produce Prescription Program grant from the Health Resources and Services Administration, with an award of $2,000,000, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Board of Health is authorized to submit said grant application to the Health Resources and Services Administration.
Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
