WHEREAS, Substitute Resolution RS2023-2143 appropriated $471,694 in American Rescue Plan Act Funds to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Middle Tennessee, in partnership with Tennessee State University, to provide mentoring services for first-year college students through an initiative called Big Futures; and,
WHEREAS, Exhibit A to Substitute Resolution RS2023-2143 provided for a projected project term through September 30, 2024; and,
WHEREAS, Resolution RS2024-489 amended Exhibit A to extend the project term through December 31, 2024; and,
WHEREAS, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Middle Tennessee has requested that the projected project term be extended through June 30, 2025; and,
WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that the project term be extended.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. The Metropolitan Council accepts this resolution as a recommendation of the COVID-19 Financial Oversight Committee.
Section 2. That Exhibit A to Substitute Resolution RS2023-2143 is hereby amended by extending Big Brothers Big Sisters of Middle Tennessee's projected program term through June 30, 2025.
Section 3. That this Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
