WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County has established an injury-on-duty medical clinic for the treatment of employees who are injured by accident arising out of and in the course of employment; and,
WHEREAS, section 3.24.020(D) of the Metropolitan Code provides that the contract to provide medical services to employees at the injury-on-duty medical clinic shall be approved by the Metropolitan Council; and,
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Agent, after consultation with the Director of Human Resources, has awarded a contract to provide medical services at the injury-on-duty medical clinic to Concentra Health Services Inc.; and,
WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this contract be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT enacted BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That the contract between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County and Concentra Health Services Inc. to furnish medical services to employees at the injury-on-duty medical clinic established by the Metropolitan Government, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved.
Section 2. That any amendments to the contract shall be approved by resolution of the Metropolitan Council receiving at least twenty-one affirmative votes.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
