A resolution approving an application for a FY2026 Grants to Support Families in the Justice System (Justice for Families) Program grant from the U. S. Department of Justice to the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Office of Family Safety, to establish a supervised visitation and safe exchange program at its community-centered Family Safety Center to provide a safe, structured way to manage custody exchanges and visitation.

WHEREAS, the U. S. Department of Justice is accepting applications for a FY2026 Grants to Support Families in the Justice System (Justice for Families) Program grant with an award of $800,000 with no cash match required; and,
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government is eligible to participate in this grant program; and,
WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant application be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That the application for a FY2026 Grants to Support Families in the Justice System (Justice for Families) Program grant from the U. S. Department of Justice with an award of $800,000, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Nashville Office of Family Safety is authorized to submit said grant application to the U. S. Department of Justice.
Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
