A resolution approving an application for an Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) from the U. S. Department of Energy to the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Department of General Services, for an energy retrofit for the Metro Nashville Historic Courthouse (HCH) to replace lower efficient incandescent bulbs with LED lamps, improve thermal efficiency, and minimize air leakage.

WHEREAS, the U. S. Department of Energy is accepting applications for an Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) with an award of $644,440.00 with no cash match required; and,
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government is eligible to participate in this grant program; and,
WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant application be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That the application for an Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) with an award of $644,440.00, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Department of General Services is authorized to submit said grant application to the U. S. Department Energy.
Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
