WHEREAS, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is accepting applications for an Environmental and Climate Justice Community Change grant with an award of $20,000,000 with no cash match required to provide funding for the North Nashville and Bordeaux Hubs and Spokes Project with a focus on developing Resilience Hubs, Resilience Spokes, and a Feasibility Assessment for a closed landfill; and,
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County is eligible to participate in this grant program; and,
WHEREAS, the EPA requires local government applicants to partner with a community-based organization as part of their grant project; and,
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government will be partnering with The Equity Alliance to complete the grant project; and,
WHEREAS, as part of the grant application, the Metropolitan Government is required to submit a partnership agreement describing their collaboration with The Equity Alliance on this grant project; and,
WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that the grant application, including the partnership agreement, be approved and submitted.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That the Metropolitan Government's application for an Environmental and Climate Justice Community Change grant with an award of $20,000,000 to provide funding for the North Nashville and Bordeaux Hubs and Spokes Project, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Nashville Mayor's Office is auth...
