WHEREAS, it is to the mutual benefit of the University of Tennessee and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health, to provide clinical experience opportunities for students enrolled in the various programs of the University of Tennessee College of Social Work; and,
WHEREAS, the University of Tennessee College of Social Work and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health, have entered into a contract, attached hereto and incorporated herein, to provide clinical experience opportunities for students enrolled in the various programs of the College of Social Work; and,
WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this agreement be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That the agreement between the University of Tennessee, on behalf of its College of Social Work, and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health, to provide clinical and practicum experience opportunities for students enrolled in the various programs of the University of Tennessee College of Social Work, is hereby approved.
Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.

Analysis
This resolution approves a contract between the Metropolitan Board of Health and the University of Tennessee to provide clinical and practicum training experience to students enrolled in the University of Tennessee College of Social Work. The term of the agreement is five years beginning September 1, 2024. Either party may terminate the agreement upon 30 days written notice. The University of Tennessee is required to provide assurance that participating students are covered by professional liability insurance and also agrees to assume responsibility for the students participating in this program.
Fiscal Note: There is no cost to Metro for the performance of this agreement.
