A resolution approving a grant application for a National Leadership Grant for Libraries from the Institute of Museum and Library Services to the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Nashville Public Library, in conjunction with its Nashville After Zone Alliance, to use funding to address a critical and timely need in equipping youth and adults with Artificial Intelligence (AI) literacy skills.

WHEREAS, the Institute of Museum and Library Services is accepting applications for a National Leadership Grant for Libraries with an award of $179,841.25 with no cash match required; and,
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government is eligible to participate in this grant program; and,
WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant application be approved and submitted.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That the Metropolitan Government’s grant application to address a critical and timely need in equipping youth and adults with Artificial Intelligence (AI) literacy skills, with an award of $179,841.25, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Nashville Public Library is authorized to submit said application to the Institute of Museum and Library Services
Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
