WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Department of Finance, previously entered into a grant agreement with the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency to provide public assistance for damage caused by severe storms, tornadoes, and flooding during March 25 to April 3, 2021 approved by RS2023-1982; and,

WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend the grant agreement to increase the amount of the grant by $3,454,218.76 from $2,285,086.12 to $5,739,304.88 and to increase the amount of the required cash match by $166,757.02 for a new match total of $287,024.68, a copy of which amendment one is attached hereto; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that amendment one be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1.                     That amendment one to the grant by and between the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency and the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Department of Finance, to provide public assistance for damage caused by severe storms, tornadoes, and flooding during March 25 to April 3, 2021, a copy of which amendment one is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2.                     That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.

This resolution approves the first amendment to a grant agreement with the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency and the Department of Finance to provide public assistance for damage caused by severe storms, tornadoes, and flooding from March 25 to April 3, 2021. The grant term began March 25, 2021, and ends March 24, 2025.

 

The amendment increases the grant amount by $3,454,218.76, from $2,285,086.12 to $5,729,304.88, and increases the required cash match by $166,757.02, from $120,267.66 to $287,024.68. The grant budget attachments would be updated to reflect these changes.
