WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health, previously entered into a grant agreement with the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) approved by RS2020-187, and amendments RS2020-378, RS2021-721, RS2021-1046, RS2022-1432, RS2022-1743, RS2023-1992, RS2023-2176, and RS2023-2259; and,

WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend the grant agreement to increase the amount of the grant by $125,000.00 from $1,764,342 to $1,889,342.00, increase the required cash match by $569,985.00, extend the end date to September 30, 2024, modify terms of the agreement related to correspondence and budget support information, and add a term to the agreement requiring participation in a year end performance evaluation with the EPA, a copy of which amendment nine is attached hereto; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that amendment nine be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1.                     That amendment nine to the grant by and between the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency and the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health, for the ongoing collection of data on ambient air concentrations for fine particulate matter in Nashville, Tennessee, a copy of which amendment nine is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2.                     That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.

This resolution approves a ninth amendment to a grant from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to the Metropolitan Board of Health for the ongoing collection of data on ambient air concentrations for fine particulate matter in Nashville. This grant was originally approved by Resolution No. RS2020-187 and subsequently amended by Resolutions Nos. RS2020-378, RS2021-721, RS2021-1046, RS2022-1432, RS2022-1743, RS2023-1992, RS2023-2176, and RS2023-2259.

 

The amendment under consideration increases the grant amount by $125,000, from $1,764,342 to $1,889,342, and increases the required cash match by $569,985. The end date of the grant term would also be extended to September 30, 2024.

 

The grant agreement would further be amended to update correspondence conditions and require a joint evaluation of performance for FY2024 based on jointly evaluating and reporting progress and accomplishments as part of the program.
