WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County (“Metro”), acting by and through the Metropolitan Housing Trust Fund Commission, previously entered into a grant contract with Nonprofit Housing Corporation, for the express purpose of constructing affordable housing approved by RS2024-750; and,
WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend this grant contract by extending the term of the contract and requiring the non-profit organization to provide an updated annual audit and charitable solicitation letter, as required by the Metropolitan Code of Laws; and,
WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that the amendment to the grant contract be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That this First Amendment to the grant contract for constructing affordable housing between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Housing Trust Fund Commission, and Nonprofit Housing Corporation, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is hereby authorized to execute the same.
Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.

This resolution approves the first amendment to a grant contract between the Metropolitan Housing Trust Fund Commission and Nonprofit Housing Corporation to construct affordable housing. The grant contract was approved by Council through RS2024-750. The contract allocated $4,000,000 for the construction of 188 Barnes Fund homes at 876 West Trinity Lane.
The proposed amendment would extend the term of the grant agreement to expire on December 31, 2026. The amendment would also update the terms of the grant agreement to reflect that the grant award is not exclusively funded by American Rescue Plan Act funds and requires the Nonprofit Housing Corporation to provide an updated audit and charitable solicitation letter before receiving the final draw of grant funds.
