Agenda Analysis

Analysis

This resolution approves two amendments to a grant from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to the Nashville Fire Department to protect the health and safety of the public and firefighting personnel against fire and fire-related hazards. The grant, as approved by Resolution No. RS2022-1770, would replace fitness equipment in various fire halls.

The first amendment, listed as Amendment Two, changes the costs of various pieces of equipment listed on May 2, 2024. The second amendment, listed as Amendment Three, updates the final costs of various pieces of equipment with no increase in funding. Amendment Three also permits any remaining funds be used to purchase additional exercise equipment and extends the grant period from April 30, 2024, to August 30, 2024.

While the grant summary sheet referenced an “Amendment One,” that amendment was not submitted to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and is not under consideration by this resolution.
