WHEREAS, the Nashville Public Library Foundation has awarded grants in an amount not to exceed $1,571,300 with no cash match required to the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Nashville Public Library, to provide funding for certain library program positions and enhancement funding; and,
WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this in-kind grant be accepted.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That the grants by and between the Nashville Public Library Foundation, in an amount not to exceed $1,571,300.00, and the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Nashville Public Library, to provide funding for certain program positions and enhancement funding, a copy of which grants are attached hereto and incorporated herein, are hereby approved.
Section 2. That these grant awards be appropriated to the Nashville Public Library based on the revenues estimated to be received.
Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.

This resolution accepts grants from the Nashville Public Library Foundation to the Nashville Public Library to provide funding for certain program positions and enhancement funding. This grant will fund program positions to facilitate various programs, including Limitless Libraries, Bring Books to Life, Studio NPL, Education & Literacy, and Which Chair Productions. This grant also awards funding for program enhancement and improvements for child, adult, and teen services.
