WHEREAS, it is to the mutual benefit of the CDC and the Metropolitan Government (Metro), acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health, to provide an Associate to assist public health agencies in developing, implementing, and evaluating public health programs at no cost to the host agency; and,    

WHEREAS, the CDC and Metro, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health, have entered into an Agreement to Detail, attached hereto and incorporated herein, to provide an Associate to assist public health agencies in developing, implementing, and evaluating public health programs; and, 

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this Agreement to Detail be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1.                     That the Agreement to Detail between the CDC and Metro, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health, to provide an Associate to assist public health agencies in developing, implementing, and evaluating public health programs, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved.   

Section 2.                     That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.

This resolution approves an agreement from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention to the Metropolitan Board of Health for the Public Health Associate Program (PHAP). Under this program, Public Health Associates are assigned to public health agencies and work alongside other professionals to provide assistance in the Strategic Planning, Performance, and Evaluation program at MPHD. There is no cost for this agreement, however a contract will be required upon placement of an Associate. The term of the agreement is October 12, 2021 to October 13, 2023.
