WHEREAS, the Tennessee Department of Finance and Administration, Office of Criminal Justice Programs, has awarded a grant to the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Davidson County Juvenile Court, to fund the Wrapping Around Families for Success Program; and,
WHEREAS, Youth Advocate Programs, Inc., will provide services for the Wrapping Around Families for Success program, to support 24/7 crisis intervention, mentoring and counseling services, as outlined in the grant contract attached hereto; and,
WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant contract be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That the grant contract between the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Davidson County Juvenile Court, and Youth Advocate Programs, Inc., to fund the Wrapping Around Families for Success Program, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved.
Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.

This resolution approves a grant contract between Metro and Youth Advocate Programs, Inc (YAP) the Wrapping Around Families for Success Program. This program is a collaborative effort with Youth Advocate Programs, Inc. (YAP), which uses a nationally recognized advocacy/mentoring model. Metro received a grant from the Tennessee Department of Finance and Administration, Office of Criminal Justice Programs, to the Davidson County Juvenile Court for this program.
Under this contract, YAP will provide 24/7 crisis intervention, mentoring, and counseling services. Juvenile Court will use $470,000 of its previously-awarded grant funds to pay for these services. The term of the contract is from May 1, 2021, through June 30, 2022.
