WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County (“Metro”), acting by and through the Metropolitan Housing Trust Fund Commission, previously entered into a grant contract with Affordable Housing Resources, Be a Helping Hand Foundation, and Our Place Nashville for the express purpose of constructing affordable housing approved by RS2020-239; and,

WHEREAS, Metro, acting by and through the Metropolitan Housing Trust Fund Commission, and Affordable Housing Resources, Be a Helping Hand Foundation, and Our Place Nashville executed a First Amendment to said grant contracts on April 6, 2022, to extend the term of the grant contracts, which amendments were approved by RS2022-1445; and,

WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend these three grant contracts by extending the term of each contract, copies of which amendments are attached hereto and incorporated herein; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that the amendments to the grant contracts be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1.                     That amendment two to three grant contracts for constructing affordable housing between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Housing Trust Fund Commission, and Affordable Housing Resources, Be a Helping Hand Foundation, and Our Place Nashville, copies of which are attached hereto and incorporated herein, are hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is hereby authorized to execute the same.

Section 2.                     That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.

This resolution approves amendments to three grant contracts approved by Resolution No. RS2020-239. These grants are between the Metropolitan Housing Trust Fund Commission and nonprofit organizations and are for the construction of affordable housing.

 

The amendments extend the term of the grant contracts with Affordable Housing Resources and Our Place Nashville from 36 months to 48 months and with Be a Helping Hand Foundation from 36 months to 42 months. No other changes would be made to the grant contracts.

 

Fiscal Note: This resolution will extend the terms of the contracts but will not affect the balance of the Barnes Fund.
