A resolution accepting a Studio NPL Outreach Coordinator Grant from the Nashville Public Library Foundation to the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Nashville Public Library, to fund the Studio NPL program supervisor position.

WHEREAS, the Nashville Public Library Foundation has awarded a Studio NPL Outreach Coordinator Grant in an amount not to exceed $95,400.00 with no cash match required to the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Nashville Public Library, to fund the Studio NPL program supervisor position; and,   

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant be accepted.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1.                     That the Studio NPL Outreach Coordinator Grant, by and between the Nashville Public Library Foundation, in an amount not to exceed $95,400.00, to the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Nashville Public Library to fund the Studio NPL program supervisor position, a copy of which grant is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved.

Section 2.                     That the amount of this grant be appropriated to the Nashville Public Library, based on the revenues estimated to be received and any match to be applied.

Section 3.                     That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.

Analysis

This resolution accepts a Studio NPL Outreach Coordinator Grant from the Nashville Public Library Foundation to the Nashville Public Library. The grant will be used to fund the Studio NPL outreach coordinator position. This is a full-time position that encompasses outreach with the community and working with NPL’s popular STEM and Mobile Maker program partners.

The grant amount is not to exceed $95,400 with no cash match required. The term of the grant commences July 1, 2026, and ends on June 30, 2027.
