WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Office of Family Safety, previously entered into a grant agreement with the Tennessee Department of Finance and Administration to fund staffing positions to help manage the multi-disciplinary needs of its clients approved by RS2023-2204; and, 

WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend the grant agreement to increase the amount of the grant by $309,500.00 from $386,875.00 to $696,375.00 and extend the end date to June 30, 2025, a copy of which amendment one is attached hereto; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that amendment one be accepted.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1.                     That amendment one to the grant by and between the Tennessee Department of Finance and Administration and the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Office of Family Safety, to fund staffing positions to help manage the multi-disciplinary needs of its clients, a copy of which amendment one is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2.                     That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.

This resolution approves an amendment to a grant agreement from the Tennessee Department of Finance and Administration to the Office of Family Safety, previously approved by Resolution No. RS2023-2204. This grant provides funding for five advocate positions to help manage the multi-disciplinary needs of its clients at Jean Crowe Advocacy Center and the Family Safety Center.

 

The amendment would increase the amount of the award by $309,500, from $386,875 to $696,375 with no additional cash match required. The grant budget attachments would be updated accordingly. The contract term would also be extended from June 30, 2024, to June 30, 2025. Other provisions related to disbursement reconciliation and close out, conflicts of interest, state interest in equipment or motor vehicles, and capital asset would be updated.
