WHEREAS, the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency has awarded a grant in an amount not to exceed $8,255,410.94 with a required cash match of $23,407.97 to the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Department of Finance, to provide for reimbursement of COVID related eligible expenses pursuant to Presidential Disaster Declaration number FEMA-4514-DR-TN; and,   

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant be accepted.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1.                     That the grant by and between the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency, in an amount not to exceed $8,255,410.94 to the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Department of Finance, to provide for reimbursement of COVID related eligible expenses pursuant to Presidential Disaster Declaration number FEMA-4514-DR-TN, a copy of which grant is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved.

Section 2.                     That the amount of this grant is to be appropriated to the Department of Finance based on the revenues estimated to be received and any match to be applied.

Section 3.                     That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.

This resolution accepts a grant from the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency to the Metropolitan Department of Finance to provide public assistance pursuant to Presidential Disaster Declaration number FEMA-4514-DR-TN for reimbursement of COVID-related eligible expenses.

 

The grant is in an amount not to exceed $8,255,410.94 with a required cash match of $23,407.97. The grant term is from January 20, 2020, to May 11, 2026. The funds will reimburse the costs of operating COVID-19 testing centers during 2020 and 2021.
