A resolution amending Resolution RS2022-1830, which appropriated $7,890,153.00 in American Rescue Plan Act Funds to the Urban League of Middle Tennessee and Nashville State Community College, to extend the project term and approve Nashville State Community College’s Grant Spending Plan Revision.

WHEREAS, Resolution RS2022-1830 appropriated $7,890,153.00 in American Rescue Plan Act Funds to the Urban League of Middle Tennessee and Nashville State Community College to create a program that will bring workforce training to the community, preparing 1500 individuals to be Ready to Connect before committing to quality, employer-supported programs that lead to high-wage, high-demand jobs, as more described in Exhibit A to the Resolution; and,
WHEREAS, Exhibit A the Resolution provided for a projected program term through June 30, 2024; and,
WHEREAS, the Urban League of Middle Tennessee and Nashville State Community College have requested an extended program term through June 30, 2026; and,
WHEREAS, Nashville State Community College has submitted a Grant Spending Plan Revision, attached hereto, reallocating funds appropriated to them to be used for a mobile classroom; and,
WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that the program term be extended and that Nashville State Community College’s Grant Spending Plan Revision be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. The Metropolitan Council accepts this resolution as a recommendation of the COVID-19 Financial Oversight Committee.
Section 2. That Resolution RS2022-1830 is hereby amended by Amending Exhibit A to extend the Urban League of Middle Tennessee and Nashville State Community College’s program term through June 30, 2026.
Section 3. That Nashville State Community College’s Grant Spending Plan Revision, attached hereto, is hereby approved, and Exhibit A to RS2022-1830 is hereby amended by incorporating the Grant Spending Plan Revision. Exhibit A shall otherwise remain in effect.
Section 4. That this Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.

This resolution amends Resolution No. RS2022-1830, which allocated $7,890,153 of American Rescue Plan Act Funds to the Urban League of Middle Tennessee and Nashville State Community College. The original resolution funded a program that would bring workforce training to the community.
The amendment under consideration would amend Exhibit A to extend the program term from October 31, 2024 to June 30, 2026. In addition, Nashville State Community College’s Grant Spending Plan Revision would be added to Exhibit A.
