WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health, previously entered into a grant agreement with the Tennessee Department of Health to achieve sustained tuberculosis control and enhanced tuberculosis prevention to eventually eliminate tuberculosis as a public health threat in Tennessee approved by RS2020-374; and,

WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend the grant agreement to increase the amount of the grant by $1,459,900.00 with no cash match required for a new grant total of $2,919,800.00 and extend the end date of the grant agreement from June 30, 2021 to June 30, 2022, a copy of which amendment one is attached hereto; and,  

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that amendment one be accepted.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1.                     That amendment one to the grant by and between the Tennessee Department of Health and the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health, to achieve sustained tuberculosis control and enhanced tuberculosis prevention to eventually eliminate tuberculosis as a public health threat in Tennessee, a copy of which amendment one is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2.                     That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.

This resolution approves amendment one to a grant from the Tennessee Department of Health to the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Metro Board of Health, to achieve sustained tuberculosis control and enhanced tuberculosis prevention to eventually eliminate tuberculosis as a public health threat in Tennessee. The original grant agreement was previously approved by RS2020-374. This amendment increases the grant amount by $1,459,900, from $1,459,900 to $2,919,800, with no local cash match required. The end date of the grant agreement would be extended from June 30, 2021 to June 30, 2022. Other amendments include an option to execute up to three additional renewal options for a period of 12 months each, not to exceed a total grant term of 60 months.
