WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council passed Resolution No. RS2021-1070, pursuant to which the Metropolitan Government appropriated a total of $1,273,580 from the Nashville Public Library to various non-profit organizations for the provision of free and high-quality afterschool programs through the Library’s Nashville After Zone Alliance (“NAZA”) program; and,

WHEREAS, Resolution No. RS2021-1070 authorized the Metropolitan Government to enter into grant contracts with certain non-profit organizations; and,

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government, by and through the Nashville Public Library, and DYMON in the Rough, Inc. are parties to a grant contract (L-4795), as authorized by Resolution No. RS2021-1070, pursuant to which the Metropolitan Government agreed to make a grant of $83,160 to DYMON in the Rough, Inc. for the provision of free and high-quality afterschool programs through NAZA; and,

WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend the grant agreement to increase the amount of the grant by $24,500 to support transportation costs to help improve the access and safety of children and youth in afterschool programs for a new grant total of $107,660, a copy of which grant contract amendment is attached hereto; and,

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government, by and through the Nashville Public Library, and Nations Ministry Center are parties to a grant contract (L-4804), as authorized by Resolution No. RS2021-1070, pursuant to which the Metropolitan Government agreed to make a grant $92,400 to Nations Ministry Center for the provision of free and high-quality afterschool programs through NAZA; and,

WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend the grant contract to increase the amount of the grant by $24,500 to support transportation costs to help improve the access and safety of children and youth in afterschool programs for a new grant total of $116,900, a copy of which grant contract amendment is attached hereto; and,

WHEREAS, in accordance with the terms of the grant contracts, amendments to the grant contract must be in writing and passed by resolution by the Metropolitan Council; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that these amendments be accepted.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1.                      That the amendment to the grant contract between The Metropolitan Government, by and through the Nashville Public Library, and DYMON in the Rough, Inc. to increase the amount of the grant by $24,500 to support transportation costs to help improve the access and safety of children and youth in afterschool programs for a new grant total of $107,660 a copy of which grant contract amendment is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved.

Section 2.                     That the amendment to the grant contract between The Metropolitan Government, by and through the Nashville Public Library, and Nations Ministry Center to increase the amount of the grant by $24,500 to support transportation costs to help improve the access and safety of children and youth in afterschool programs for a new grant total of $116,900, a copy of which grant contract amendment is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved.

Section 3.                     That this Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
