WHEREAS, the State of Tennessee, Department of Environment and Conservation, has awarded a grant in an amount to not to exceed $13,000.00 and a required match of $6,500.00; and,
WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant be accepted.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That the grant by and between the State of Tennessee, Department of Environment and Conservation, in an amount not to exceed $13,000.00, to the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Metropolitan Department of Water and Sewerage Services Waste Division, to develop a series of multilingual recycling education resources, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, in hereby approved and accepted.
Section 2. That the amount of this grant is to be appropriated to the Metropolitan Department of Water and Sewerage Services Waste Division based on the revenues estimated to be received and any match to be applied.
Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.

This resolution accepts a grant from the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation to the Metropolitan Department of Water Services in an amount not to exceed $13,000 with a required cash match of $6,000. The Metropolitan Council approved the application for this grant pursuant to Resolution No. RS2024-372.
The grant will be used to develop a series of multilingual recycling education services. The funding supports Tennessee’s 2015-2025 Solid Waste and Materials Management Plan. The term of the grant begins July 1, 2024, and ends June 30, 2025.
