WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health, previously entered into a grant agreement with the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency to assist with the necessary development, establishment, and maintenance of adequate monitoring programs for the prevention and control of air pollution in Nashville, Tennessee approved by RS2025-1432 and RS2025-1636; and,
WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend that grant agreement to increase the amount of the grant by $136,614 from $136,614 to $273,228 with no cash match required and revises the general terms and conditions, a copy of which amendment two is attached hereto; and,
WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that amendment two be approved; and,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That amendment two to the Particulate Matter (PM 2.5) Ambient Monitoring Network grant by and between the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency and the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health, to assist with the necessary development, establishment, and maintenance of adequate monitoring programs for the prevention and control of air pollution in Nashville, Tennessee, a copy of which amendment two is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.
Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.

Environmental Protection Agency to the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health, to assist with the necessary development, establishment, and maintenance of adequate monitoring programs for the prevention and control of air pollution in Nashville.
The grant contract, first approved by Resolution No. RS2025-1432, provides partial funding to support Nashville’s ongoing program for the prevention and control of air pollution based on Section 103 of the Clean Air Act. This grant covers all aspects of PM2.5 monitoring, including salaries, travel, training, and laboratory support. The grant period began on April 1, 2025, and ends on March 31, 2027.
The first amendment increased the grant amount by $71,614 from $65,000 to $136,614, with no required cash match.
The second amendment increased the grant amount by $136,614 for a new total of $273,228.
