Agenda Analysis
Analysis
This resolution approves the second amendment to a grant from the Tennessee Department of Health to the Metropolitan Board of Health in an amount not to exceed $260,000 with no cash match required, previously approved by Resolution No. RS2023-1954. The original grant aims to improve the health of Davidson County visitors and residents through targeted strategies to prevent and control the use of all tobacco products. The term of the grant began July 1, 2023, and ends June 30, 2025.
The first amendment, approved by Resolution No. RS2024-503, amended several sections of the agreement including the Scope of Services and Deliverables section, the Annual and Final Reports section, the Audit Report section, the Procurement section, and the State Interest in Equipment or Motor Vehicles section, and added new sections related to confidential data and personally identifiable information.
The resolution under consideration would increase the grant amount by $260,000 to $520,000. The end date would be extended from June 30, 2025, to June 30, 2027. In addition, the scope of services would be amended as well as the reporting deadlines. Provisions regarding Communications and Contacts, Audit Report, Procurement, and State Interest in Equipment or Motor Vehicles would also be amended. The grant budget attachment would be amended to reflect the change in the grant amount and the term.
